Knee is the largest joint of body. Knee joint is made up of bones, cartilage, ligaments, bursae. Formed by articulations of femuriibia & patella. Ligaments provides stability to joint. Synovial fluid lubricates joint.
Meniscus( C-shaped cartilages ) acts as a shock absorbers. Bursae (fluid filled spaces) helps in smooth movement of the knee. Hurt | injury | medical conditions to any of these structures causes pain in knee.
SYMPTOMS
- Painful & swollen knee. Weakness or instability
- Crackling or popping sounds in knee . Difficult in weight bearing
