Intercostal nerve block
Intercostal nerve injection | block useful for pain management, either as primary intervention or as an adjunct. 12 intercostal nerves supplies back, trunk, muscles in between ribs & upper abdomen. These nerves travels below to the accompanying rib.
INDICATIONS OF intercostal nerve injection
- Breast surgery or post breast surgery.
- Post herpetic neuralgia (SHINGLES/Herpes zoster infection)
- Inter costal neuralgia.
- Intercostal neuritis.
- Cancer.
- Rib fracture.
